A wonderful family-owned collection of cottages in the heart of the Shropshire Hills

The Ritchie family welcome you to this historic collection of unique cottages situated in the hamlet of Burwarton and nestling in the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have direct access onto the Brown Clee Hill and dozens of meandering lanes making us a magnet for walkers.

Or four cottages are in the pretty village of Burwarton, at the foot of The Brown Clee Hill, and located just a minutes walk from a country pub ’The Boyne Arms’, which has been renovated and is run by the owners’ of the cottages. The Boyne Arms offers fantastic meals in a most comfortable and cosy setting, the beer garden outside now includes private pods which guests can use to enjoy their drinks and food outside. Takeaway meals can be provided for you (Weds-Sun), and full English breakfast can be booked for Saturday and Sunday mornings.

In our own local pub & restaurant you can enjoy imaginative menus are sourced mainly from local Shropshire produce, including from the Burwarton Estate itself – everything from local cheeses, local sausages from the butchers nearby and milk.  Our bar serves real ales and wonderful wine.

Burwarton is close to Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Ludlow and Bridgnorth which all offer an array of attractions as well as a large range of shops and bars. For the more active guests there are many walks to enjoy such as Clee Burf and Brown Clee Hill which is the highest point in Shropshire. The town of Ludlow is also just a short drive away and highlights for the day include Mortimer Forest and Ludlow Castle. After a long day walking and exploring all that Shropshire has to offer. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 150 yards.

So come and visit us. We want you to relax and enjoy the best of what that Shropshire has to offer from wonderful food, fine hospitality, glorious walks in stunning scenery, and intriguing towns and villages.

Between our cottages and pub accommodation we can accommodate up to 24 people.

We are dog friendly, family friendly…..well, just all round friendly really.

Fantastic lunch out with friends, excellent food, fantastic gravy, Jim has promised to sell it to us by the pint, we will be back to collect our pint of gravy next Sunday.

We were very excited to sample the Boyne’s breakfasts, as we love eating there for evening meals. We have been so impressed by how the pub has approached Covid with the lovely garden huts.
